Stage 02
L1CapabilityEngineering Review
Material, process, tolerance, surface, assembly, cost, lead time and scale are reviewed.
Evidence this stage will capture
Review notes and the questions raised back to the buyer.
Stage 03
L1CapabilityRoute Planning (DFM)
A manufacturing route is mapped step by step, including any multi-process steps.
Evidence this stage will capture
Annotated drawing and process route.
Stage 04
L1CapabilityMaterial & Process Selection
The material and joining or machining process is fixed for the project.
Evidence this stage will capture
Material specification and process selection record.
Stage 05
L1CapabilityPrototype / First Article
A first part is produced to validate the design and the route before scaling.
Evidence this stage will capture
Prototype photos and first-article measurement records.
Stage 06
L1CapabilityInspection & Validation
Key dimensions and surfaces are checked against the agreed requirements.
Evidence this stage will capture
Inspection report and instrument photos.
Stage 07
L1CapabilityProduction
The validated route is repeated at the required quantity.
Evidence this stage will capture
In-process photos and batch records.
Stage 08
L1CapabilityFinishing, Assembly & Export
Surface finishing, sub-assembly, packaging and export documentation are completed.
Evidence this stage will capture
Packaging photos, labels and shipping documents.
